HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK WHEN WE NEED A FLIGHT?

United Air Ambulance will need some basic information to get started…


-Patient information (Faxed copy of the History & Physical and Hospital Face Sheet).

-Contact information of your Case Manager or Family Member that is helping coordinate the transfer.

-Insurance Information (Id#, DOB and phone # on back of card).

-Date would you like this transport to be completed.

-Location of patient and final destination.

Once, we receive this info we will be able to give you a "bedside-to-bedside" quote.

CAN FAMILY MEMBERS ACCOMPANY THE PATIENT?

In most cases 1-2 family members can accompany the patient. There are some special circumstances that may prevent this but every effort will be made to accommodate your needs.

WHAT IS "BEDSIDE-TO-BEDSIDE" SERVICE?

Some companies may require you to arrange and pay for the ground transport to and from each hospital. United Air Ambulance will include this in the pricing for the flight and the medical crew will accompany the patient from bedside-to-bedside.

What is included in the quote?

All costs are included in our quote:

- Aircraft cost

- Medical crew

- Ground Transportation on both ends

- Miscellaneous fees-including landing fees, foreign fees, etc.

How much does it cost?

Since each flight is individualized, a flight coordinator will go over the cost of the flight with you. If you call or email we can have a quote to you within the hour, if we recieve all the required transport information.

How can I save money on the flight?

If you are able to wait, there are opportunities that a flight can be done in conjunction with another flight. In the industry it is called a "Backhaul", “Dead Leg”, “Empty Leg.” Our flight coordinators can keep you abreast when these opportunities arise.

Does the air ambulance service carry liability and medical malpractice insurance?


Each air ambulance should carry a minimum of $20 million in aircraft liability insurance and a minimum of $1 million in medical malpractice insurance.

We provide air ambulance transports in all 50 states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, etc) including Canada, Mexico, Europe, China, India, Japan, and Caribbean Islands.

In some instances licensed providers, with the proper certification per state and federal regulations, perform services. Providers may be chosen based on any of the following but not limited too, logistics, position, cost, medical capability etc. Contracted providers will act on behalf of United Air Ambulance but assume all patient liability in regards to the transport.
